Dear Members,
Following the delay to the upgrade of St Mary’s Hospital for at least a decade, described by hospital chiefs as “devastating news”, there has been an announcement of an emergency cash injection of £50m over the next three years.
Here’s more: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/st-marys-london-hospital-rebuild-government-cash-b1209373.html
St Mary’s is the busiest trauma hospital in London and cares for more than million patients a year.
Separately, there is the chance to give your views on the future of palliative care services in North West London via this link, until February 24th:
A busy meeting of your committee members on February 4th heard that the Connaught Village Green roadworks are on track, with new lettings under negotiation in the area and the prospect that the popular tree light installations will return.
We have also supported St John’s Church’s application for Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy funding (accumulated from past property developer contributions) for their anti-crime railings.
The previous government gave Transport for London power to regulate pedicabs. You can give your views on how that should be done here: https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/pedicab-regulations
On dockless e-scooters and cycle hire, we and Paddington Residents Active Concern on Transport are supporting the extension of the bay on Norfolk Crescent and the move of the Sussex Square island bay to the inner side of the junction with Stanhope Terrace.
We hope to have news of another members’ evening soon, following the successful event in January.
